Happy 14th Birthday, BB. 🩵🐾

Fourteen years ago, a tiny white Persian came into my life and quietly made it better.

Since then, you’ve been my constant.

You’ve lived with me through different homes, different jobs, different seasons, and now through every book I’ve written. Whether I’m answering emails, editing a manuscript late into the night, or simply sitting in silence, you’re almost always nearby, usually close enough to remind me that companionship doesn’t require words.

If you’ve followed my writing for a while, you’ve probably seen BB make the occasional appearance. He has a way of becoming part of every chapter of my life.

He’s a Leo, and anyone who has ever met him knows it. Equal parts king, comedian, supervisor, and professional napper. He insists on drinking directly from the stream of his fountain, which explains why his forehead is sometimes a little wet. Apparently, that’s simply the proper way to do it.

Today, I celebrate not just his birthday, but fourteen years of quiet friendship, unwavering loyalty, and countless ordinary moments that turned out to be extraordinary.

Happy Birthday, my sweet little boy.

Thank you for every morning, every evening, every purr, every head bump, every nap beside my laptop, and for reminding me, day after day, that some of life’s greatest blessings arrive on four little paws.

I love you, BB. Here’s to many more birthdays together. ❤️
